What is RSS?

  Heritage South RSS

SAVE TIME!!
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a real easy way to keep track of multiple websites at a time without the need to visit each of them individually.
By quickly glancing at your RSS reader you can see which websites were updated since the last you visited them.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
An RSS feed is actually a specially formatted xml file that is read by an RSS Reader.
Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, and Outlook have RSS readers built into them and there are many others available for free online.
For example, to add this website to your Internet Explorer simply click the click on our homepage or click the orange button that is next to your homepage icon in the toolbar. Now you simply click the link that says "Subscribe to this feed" and you are done!
You can now look in the Feeds section your favorites to see if there are any changes to the website and click the link in the feed to visit the website.
When the information on a website is updated, the RSS reader shows you the changes and gives you a quick link so you can read more about it.

TRY IT OUT!
Most websites use RSS feeds to post articles, news updates, new product information, and any other information that gets updated on a regular basis.
Go ahead and try it out on our website and others like CNN, ESPN, al.com, or any others that contain links on their page that say "RSS."
By subscribing to the Heritage South RSS feed you can tell if there are rate changes, news, vehicles for sale, or any other announcements concerning the credit union.

AS A SIDE NOTE
Heritage South reserves the right to discontinue this service without notice if deemed necessary. Heritage South is also not responsible for any actions that result from the internet user downloading an rss reader as there are sufficient readers built into Internet Explorer and Firefox. Heritage South can also not be held responsible for rss content on other websites including their validity or frequency of updating.
