Lost or Stolen Cards

If your credit or debit card is lost or stolen, please follow the corresponding procedure below to ensure it is handled in a timely manner to minimize the risk of fraud.
Have you been notified your debit card has been compromised?
If you have had recent fraudulent activity, follow the procedures to dispute the fraudulent transactions.

Lost or Stolen DEBIT Card Procedure

  1. Call the Heritage South Call Center at 256-245-4776 in order to have your card frozen to prevent it from being used at any outlet.
    If it is after hours, you can call our audio line at 256-249-8318 and follow the prompts.
  2. Reorder a new debit card by contacting the Call Center during normal business hours.
  3. Balance and verify ALL transactions on your statement to check for fraudulent activity.
    If needed, follow the transaction dispute procedures.

Lost or Stolen VISA Credit Card Procedure

  1. Call VISA customer service FIRST at 1-800-299-9842. You must have your credit card number, expiration date, and social security number available for verification
  2. Call the Heritage South Call Center at 256-245-4776 and speak to an accounting clerk in order to have a new card ordered for you as soon as possible.
  3. Balance and verify ALL transactions on your statement to check for fraudulent activity.
    If needed, follow the transaction dispute procedures.
